Bus: several companies link the two cities every day from Marrakech bus stations. It is the cheapest choice if your schedule is flexible.
Grand taxi: shared or private, it leaves when full or as soon as you book the whole car.
Private transfer: a driver meets you at the airport or hotel, you stop where you like, and a porter walks you to your riad on arrival.

Stops on the way
The road crosses plains and then argan forest. A stop at a women’s cooperative shows how argan oil is made and makes a good tea break.
Arriving in the medina
Cars cannot drive into the medina. Depending on your riad, drop-off is at Bab Sbaa, Bab Marrakech or near the port, where a porter with a cart takes your luggage.

Can I do a day trip from Marrakech?
It is possible but tiring: about 6 hours on the road for a few hours in town. At least one night in Essaouira is far more enjoyable.
