A little history
The medina of Essaouira has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001.
Laid out in the 18th century for Sultan Mohammed ben Abdallah with the help of a French engineer, old Mogador blends star-fort ramparts, a working fishing port and busy souks. And always that wind surfers love it for.
